Skylarks Trustee and Special Need parent Mitch Pender is embarking on an incredible journey, cycling over 1600 kms from June 1 to July 6th as he cycles from London to Paris, London to Amsterdam and London to Paris again. This isn't just a test of endurance and determination—it's a mission to raise vital funds for Skylarks Charity, an organization dedicated to supporting families with children who have additional needs, like his daughter who has SYNGAP1.

From the bustling streets of London to the romantic avenues of Paris and the scenic canals of Amsterdam, Mitch will pedal through diverse landscapes, facing challenges head-on to make a difference.

For his eighth year in a row, Mitch has inspired parents from local primary schools to also join him and raise funds for Skylarks and their schools. But for the first time this year, he is also using his own epic journey of three school rides to exclusively raise funds for Skylarks.

Joining him on this journey to raise money for Skylarks, will be his moral support crew of Telmo Valido (Amsterdam leg), and Dave Bietrix (Paris leg) and JP Quenet (Paris leg). All cyclist supporters are paying their own costs and 100% of the money raise will be going to Skylarks.

Mitch isn’t just a Trustee for Skylarks, he is also a parent to a special needs child who suffers from a rare disease Syngap1 "As a father of a child with severe special needs , I know firsthand the challenges and the importance of having a supportive community. Skylarks Charity has been a lifeline for us and many other families. This ride is my way of giving back and ensuring that other parents have the support they need."

Skylarks Charity helps those aged 0-25 years with additional needs and disabilities. Currently supporting 11,500 children and families the charity is on a mission to ensure that everyone thrives. Through a range of engaging play sessions, therapies, workshops and so much more, our latest programme Spread Your Wings helps our neurodiverse young people access the workplace.
